Dance & Cheer - Sat, Feb. 4, 2017

Des Moines, Iowa-  Grand View competitive dance and cheer hosted the Vikings Duals this past Sunday. Nine different schools traveled to compete in the duals.

Grand View dance went 2-0 on the day, defeating William Penn 87- 53.67 and Calument College of Saint Joseph 87.33 – 71.50.

Head Coach Stacie Horton was delighted by the team's performance, "The team performed two clean, quality routines. They faced some obstacles the week prior to competing and overcame them. Winning both duals and coming away with the highest score among all other dance team in attendance was both a highlight and the confidence booster the team needed moving forward."

Grand View cheer defeated Ellsworth Community College but fell to Central Methodist University in a triangular and fell to Morningside College 59.19-70.33.

Head Coach Stacie Horton was pleased with the team's performance, "The team had a great start to the competition season at our home opener duals. I was pleased and encouraged with both their performances. They were more prepared this year going into competition season than ever before. This competition was the confidence boost the team needed to give us the momentum moving into conference and regional competitions. Now that they've seen what their hard work can produce they're excited to continue to perfect their routine. I couldn't be more proud of the growth and effort this team gives."

Dance and Cheer conference duals are hosted by Central Methodist University, February 11 in Fayette, Missouri.
