KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No.1 Grand View Wrestling swept the Heart of America Athletic All-Conference wrestling awards that were announced on Friday afternoon. Senior 131-pounder Jacob Colon (SR/Clear Lake, Iowa) shared the top honor, co-wrestler of the year, 141-pounder Josh Wenger (FR/Walford, Iowa) was chosen as the Newcomer of the Year, and head coach Nick Mitchell repeated his Coach of the Year honor.

The Vikings had a total of seven All-Conference grapplers-

1st Team

133-Jacob Colon

141-Josh Wenger

184-Michael Pixley (JR/Granite City, Illinois)

285-Dean Broghammer (JR/Manchester, Iowa)

2nd Team

157-Mason Miller (SO/Winterset, Iowa)

165-Ryan Niven (JR/Boston, Massachusetts)

197-Johnathen Dennis (SR/Shelton, Washington)

Colon remains unbeaten in conference dual matches, winning all three of his matches at 133 pounds at the Heart Championships January 28. Pixley also went 3-0 on the day, pinning all three opponents in under a total of 3 minutes.  

The all-conference teams, selected by the league's coaches, were based on results in the round robin dual matches, which were completed prior to the Heart Championships on January 28.
