Three Vikings earned NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship All-Tournament Team following thier Final Four appearance. Forward Danton Irelan (SR/Ottumwa, IA), midfielder Sam Blackman (SR/Dartford, England), and defender Cori Hill (JR/Indian Harbor, Florida). Irelan recorded two goals, along with an assist in the opening round against Keiser (Fla.) Blackman also recorded a goal and an assist in the opening round. Blackman led the Vikings victory in the elite eight over University of Northwestern Ohio, beating defenders, getting to the end line and delivering a dangerous ball in front of the net which resulted in a goal. Hill directed the Vikings from the backline, giving only one goal up in the sweet 16.

The Vikings defeated # 4 seed Keiser University (Fla.) 3-0 in the sweet 16 to advance to the elite 8 where they defeated #5 seed University of Northwestern Ohio 1-0. For the first time in Grand View history, the Vikings advanced into the semifinals where they fell in overtime to #1 seed Hastings College (Neb.).  Hastings went on the win the whole tournament and be named the 2016 NAIA Men's Soccer National Champions.

Following their final four appearance at the NAIA National Tournament the Grand View Men's soccer team has been recognized by the NAIA National office and honored with the Nels Dahlquist Memorial Team Sportsmanship Award.
