Delray Beach, Florida-Seacrest Soccer Complex- Grand View defeated the No. 5 seed Keiser University (8-6-2) 3-0 in the Second Round of the NAIA Men's Soccer National Tournament. The Vikings advance to the quarterfinals with a 15-6-2 record.


Grand View came out attacking, controlling the ball in Keiser territory, but was unable to find the back of the net. The Seahawks had a 3 on 1 breakaway in the 23rd minute, but were unable to get a shot on frame. Both teams created chances in the first half, but neither were able to put them away. The game went into halftime scoreless.

Grand View put themselves on the scoreboard in the 56th minute when Danton Irelan collected a through ball from Sam Blackman and finished it far pole. The Irelan and Blackman duo struck again in the 79th minute on a counter attack where Irelan won the ball and fed Blackman.  The Vikings sealed the game with a third goal two minutes later by Irelan off an assist from Mattia Giangrande. Viking goalkeeper Darnell Larsen had a strong performance in goal, coming up with a massive save in the first half helping the Vikings move forward to the quarterfinals.

Grand View held possession most of the game, outshooting the Seahawks 17-8, 10-2 on goal.

The Vikings take on the University of Northwestern Ohio (19-1-3) Wednesday, November 30 at 12:30pmCT/1:30pmEST in the quarterfinals.
