The Men's Viking Bowling team competed last weekend in the Five Season Classic in Cedar Rapids, IA. Placing 3rd for power points but winning the tournament against of one of the top ranked teams in the nation, the Wichita Shockers. The team combined a total pin count of 7870 giving them a team average of 192 for five individual games and 16 baker games. The team went through a best of three in bakers to take out Waldorf Univ. and then Highland to reach the final match with Wichita. The Vikings won the first game 204-181 Lost the second game 179-199 and then won the final game 204-201 to win the tournament. Leading the Vikings was Zach Fries (SR/Davenport, Iowa) (SR) with a 211.6 average putting him fourth on the All-Tournament Team. Sam Cantrell (SO/Citrus Heights, California) (SO.) was sixth with a 205.8 average. Contributing to the team effort was Ryan Felton (SR/Des Moines, Iowa) (SR) 196.5 avg., Nathan Maciejewski (SR/Dyer, Indiana) (SR) Dacoda Ewalt (JR/Ankeny, Iowa)s (SR) Luke Schroeder (SR/Farley, Iowa) (SR) and Luke Fisher (JR/Altoona, Iowa) (JR)The Viking JV Team finished third and was lead by Trevor Blessing-Light (SO/Urbandale, Iowa) (SO) with a 194 average and Zach Mitchell (FR) 192 average.

The women's bowling team traveled to Cedar Rapids, IA last weekend to compete in the Five Season Classic. The Vikings finished fourth. The ladies had a combined team pin count of 7490 with a team average of 183. Leading the team was Brittany Smith (SR/Des Moines, Iowa) (SR) with a 193 average, followed by Amanda Duplan (SO/Citrus Heights, California) (SO) 192 avg., Hannah Munson (JR/Cottage Grove, Minnesota) (JR) 188.6 avg., Sarah Muench (SR) 180.4 avg., Rebecca Broerman (JR/Mason City, Iowa) (JR) 171.7 and Kayleigh Duff (JR/Des Plaines, Illinois) (JR) 170 avg. The reserved team finished fourth and was led by Makayla Ericksen (SO/Burnsville, Minnesota) (SO) with a 192.8 average and Jessica Sellers (SO/Dyer, Indiana) (SO) with a 191 average.
