The Grand View men's and women's cross country teams travelled to Cedar Rapids over the weekend to compete in the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy.

Freshman Maren Jeppson (Mount Vernon) led the women's pack in 20th place out of 214 finishers and a 5k personal record of 19:17. The Viking women finished 18th out of 25 teams.

In the men's 8k race, senior Rhett Gainey (Monroe, Iowa) came in 52nd out of 240 finishers with his personal best 8k time of 26:48.  Junior Duoth Tut (Urbandale, Iowa) and freshman Colton Galusha (Clinton, Iowa) also posted personal bests. The Vikings finished 22nd out of 25 teams.

Grand View has next weekend off in preparation for the Heart of America Championships on November 5 held at Swope Park in Kansas City, Mo.
