The Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball All-Conference team has been announced. 

Four members of the Grand View men's basketball team received post-season honors as voted on by the MCC coaches.

Junior forward Cory Viet (Ackley, Iowa) earned First Team honors and was deemed the MCC Newcomer of the Year. Junior guard Grant Burns (Monroe, Iowa) joined Viet on the First Team. Senior forward Rohan Greaves (McCrae, Australia) and junior forward Greg Schulz (Carroll, Iowa) were selected to the Honorable Mention team.
Viet was among the leaders in MCC play in scoring (3rd - 17.4ppg), field goal percent (3rd - .526), free throw percent (2nd - .834), and rebounds (7th - 6.64 rpg). On the year Viet recorded 5 double-doubles, and was named MCC Player of the Week in December.

Burns was among the leaders in steals (4th - 2.16 spg) and led the conference in assists averaging 5.32 per game. Burns was also second in the conference in assist to turnover ratio at 1.79.

Rohan Greaves led the conference in total three point shots made with 78 on the year. He also ranked 7th in the conference in three point shooting percentage at .384.

Greg Schulz was also at the top of the MCC in three point shooting. He finished 5th in the conference in three point percentage at .394, and was 7th in three point shots made with 63 on the year.

The Vikings were 24-8 overall and 14-2 in MCC play in 2008-09. They were rated as high as No. 17 in the NAIA this year.

Viking head coach Denis Schaefer was selected by his peers as the MCC Coach of the Year. In his 11th year as head coach at Grand View, Schaefer led the Vikings to a 14-2 MCC record and the MCC regular season title. The Vikings appeared in the NAIA top 25 poll four times this season and are currently 25-8 and ranked No 17 in the nation. 

The Vikings learned today that they have received an at-large bid to the NAIA Division II National Championships. It is the Vikings' third national tournament appearance Coach Schaefer. Grand View's last appearance at the national tournament was in 2001.

The official announcement of the Championship bracket will be made by 12 p.m. CST on Thursday, March 5.
