The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2012 Baseball All-America teams today, selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) All-America Selection Committee. A total of 32 student-athletes were named to the first and second teams. An additional 35 players received honorable mentions.
Grand View's Brady Wathen (Ankeny, Iowa) earned his second NAIA All-American award; he was selected to the First Team in 2011. The senior outfielder started all 56 games for the Vikings this season, batting .328 with 65 hits, eight doubles, seven home runs, 39 runs and 30 RBIs. He was also voted to the MCC First Team for the second straight year.
The Vikings were 27-29 in 2012 and finished tied for first in the MCC regular season with a 16-8 league record. GV also won the MCC Tournament for its second NAIA World Series appearance in three years.
