The Viking men's basketball team hosted Waldorf College to Sisam Arena on Saturday afternoon to close out the first half of the MCC conference season.  Unfortunately for the Vikings the first half did not end as planned, as Grand View dropped the contest 75-61.

The Vikings fell behind midway through the first half and found themselves trailing 37-25 at halftime.  The first half saw Grand View shoot 34 percent from the floor, while the Warriors connected on 42 percent of their shots.

In the second half Grand View was able to chip away at the lead, coming as close as two points with just over seven minutes remaining in the game.  However that was all the closer the home team would get, as they were only to score ten points over the final seven minutes.

Grand View continued their struggles from the floor, as they shot 39 percent from the field, 29 percent from behind the three-point line and 54 percent from the free throw line.  The Vikings out rebounded the Warriors 38-31, including a conference-season high of 15 offensive rebounds.

Seniors Josh Henry, Allen Clark and Kevin Smith all scored in double figures for the Vikings.  Henry scored a game-high 18 points, while Clark and Smith each finished with 10 points.  Henry and Smith both hauled in a team-high seven rebounds, while junior Jordan Young grabbed five rebounds in six minutes.

Grand View will begin the second half of the conference season on the road Monday night at Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids.  Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
